Why did I go ahead with Forceten??

I was intrigued to see what the report would be like, as the property that I intended to purchase needed total renovation. I also mentioned to Steve about alterations, an extension and areas of concern.

The 30 pages bound survey report was thorough with the quality written commentary, the accompanying photographs and the follow-up suggestions have been extremely helpful. It definitely exceeded my expectations.

After reading through the report I contacted Steve, to see if it was possible to meet me at the property to go through some of the issues and without any hesitation he made an appointment to meet me in few days.

Steve was able to point out the major issues around the house and even got a builder before I arrived, to provide a quote for an area that I was not aware of, that needed major alterations.

I am profoundly deaf and he was fully aware of this and ensured that he was looking at me and being patient when speaking to me, which made me feel comfortable and at ease.

The actual survey report got me an extra £5,000 off the purchase price.

I found Steve to be responsive and professionally excellent and would have no issue with using his company in the future or recommending to anyone who asked.

As a firm we have used Forceten Surveyors to carry out a structural survey on a roof space for one of our clients. We were aware of some building regulations issues that were not correct in our view in relation to the property. Mr Bunch of Forceten Surveyors attended the property to complete a structural survey of the area in question and provided a full report. The report was detailed incorporating photographs and identified some problems with the roof space that could have resulted in our clients incurring costs of tens of thousands of pounds. The report provided was therefore invaluable.

Having recently employed Forceten Surveyors to assist me with purchasing a property, I have been particularly pleased with your services. A few examples of why I was specifically impressed were:-

Recommendation - I initially chose Forceten because the financial consultants who arranged my mortgage recommended them. The property I initially made an offer for fell through. Despite instructing different financial consultants for my next property purchase, I had no hesitation in choosing you a second time.

Attention to detail - A friend of mine, who is a builder, was on holiday & could not be with me to view a property that I had made an offer for. The builder did, however, read your report & because of the report's attention to detail, had a very clear idea of the cost & feasibility of the repair work required.

Value for Money - The company I arranged a mortgage with, charged a specific fee for a 2 page report on a one bed roomed flat. This report said very little more than:- "yes, the property does exist". You, however, charged a similar fee but provided a comprehensive 13 page report, with photos. The report raised a number of issues I had not considered before and provided an excellent insight into all of the concerns/questions I already had regarding the property.

Customer Service - Before I employed you to report on the property, you said that the report would be sent to me within an agreed timescale (from memory, 48 hours). Before this timescale had elapsed, you phoned me, to say that you were carrying out further enquiries & explained the reason for/length of the delay I would experience. This may appear to be an insignificant issue, but to me this was very important. These days, so many big companies fail to manage customers' expectations properly by adhering to what they initially agreed with the customer.
